OZARK, Ala. (WDHN) — On Wednesday morning, Michael Ready was arrested after years of threatening messages to a circuit judge and the court system in Dale County.
“It looks like it appears he is upset with the court over proceedings when it was a custody issue,” Dale County Sheriff Wally Olson said.
Recently, the threats escalated and included the general population in the threats as well, which then prompted Dale County officials to take action.
“It kept going and going to where it kept going to the point where he crossed the line,” said Olson. “Definitely could be perceived as a death threat. One of the e-mails was essentially threatening in nature to the general public as well.”
After getting the warrant, it took help from the U.S. Marshals to find him, but eventually, Ready was found and arrested.
Ready has been charged with making terrorist threats and, currently, no bond has been set for his release.
Olson wants to emphasize there are ways to handle issues such as these, without going to such extreme measures.
“Sit down with the individual, if you cant find an individual to mediate with you. Don’t make threats like this because they are taken very seriously. You never know what an individual is going to do. If they go through and follow through with these threats, then we will be behind at that time,” said Olsen.
