DALE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — This week, some counties like Dale County are celebrating Alabama extension week.
All 67 counties in Alabama have a brick-and-mortar extension office.
Through the offices, the extension office provides services in health and nutrition, community development, the flagship 4H youth program and they serve many sectors in the agriculture industry.
This week, they are celebrating the work that they do and spreading awareness about the services they offer to people who may not know.
Dale County Extension Coordinator Melissa Voynick said she’s glad the county recognizes this week as they provide facilities for them and much-needed appropriations that help.
“Sometimes those appropriations go toward certain areas of our budget in Dale County they support our 4H staff and without that appropriation, we would not be able to serve 700 kids each,” says Voynick.
Voynick says you can help with events happening on this special week on their Facebook page.
