DALE COUNTY, Ala (WDHN)— On Tuesday, June 6, Dale County Sheriff Mason Bynum announced the Jail Supervisor, and SORNA officer with the Dale County Sheriff’s Office, recently received national recognition for her role in overseeing Dale County’s 173 active registered sex offenders.
Heidi De Ridder was recognized by OffenderWatch, a national program used by the DCSO to keep track of registered sex offenders in the area.
Sheriff Bynum says the program is also often used to aid in investigations and helps to keep the public safe and informed.
De Ridder was one of 59 persons to receive the award out of 15,000 OffenderWatch users from across 4,000 agencies.
We are extremely proud of Heidi for being among the Top .4% of OffenderWatch users. In addition to her daily work managing registered sex offenders, she has gone above and beyond to promote our family safety app, which allows citizens to search for registered sex offenders near them or their family. Her initiative to reach out to local principals and the Board of Education to educate parents on this safety tool is just another way she helps to keep our community safe.
