DALE COUNTY, Ala (WDHN) — A one-vehicle crash in Dale County has left a Dale County man dead.

Dale County Coroner John Cawley identified the victim as 60-year-old Philip Smith of the Sylvan Grove Community in Dale County.

Midland City Police Chief Willy Powell says Smith was killed when his vehicle left the roadway, hit a tree, and rolled over on Highway 231 in Midland City.

The crash occurred shortly before 9:00 p.m. Thursday.

Midland City Police is investigating the crash.
