ELBA, Ala. (WDHN)—Authorities may be closer to making an arrest, or arrests in the fatal shooting
of an Elba High School senior.

On the night of September 26, Jordon Xavier Marek crashed his Nissan SUV into the garage door of a home
on Sunset Avenue near the Elba Nursing home and rehab.

Once arriving, emergency responders quickly found that the 18-year-old had been shot. He would die a short time later at Medical Center Enterprise.

Sources tell WDHN there is more than one person of interest in the fatal shooting”, but no arrests at this time.

Neighbors found Jordon’s flip-flops nearby where his vehicle crashed at Sunset and Claxton Avenue. A source tells WDHN it could indicate the victim was trying to escape from someone by foot before getting into his vehicle.

Marek’s body was transported to the Department of Forensics in Montgomery for an autopsy, but no word on the results. WDHN is told funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
