ELBA, Ala. (WDHN) — An arrest has been made in a weekend fatal shooting in Elba.

After a joint effort between the Elba Police Department and the SBI, Terrence De’Shun Green, 22, of Elba was booked into the Coffee County jail on an open count of murder and theft of property.

The Elba resident is accused of the Monday night fatal shooting of 18-year-old Jordon Xavier Marek.

Green was put on a $300,000 bond for the murder charge and $25,000 for the theft of property.

Once shot, Marek apparently lost control of his Nissan SUV and crashed into the garage of a home on Sunset Avenue in Elba.

At this time, we do not have any information concerning what allegedly took place between green and the victim. The suspect is being held at the jail awaiting his first court appearance Friday morning at the Coffee County Courthouse.

As of now, we do not know if any additional arrests will be made.

ELBA, Ala. (WDHN)—Authorities may be closer to making an arrest, or arrests in the fatal shooting
of an Elba High School senior.

On the night of September 26, Jordon Xavier Marek crashed his Nissan SUV into the garage door of a home
on Sunset Avenue near the Elba Nursing home and rehab.

Once arriving, emergency responders quickly found that the 18-year-old had been shot. He would die a short time later at Medical Center Enterprise.

Sources tell WDHN there is more than one person of interest in the fatal shooting”, but no arrests at this time.

Neighbors found Jordon’s flip-flops nearby where his vehicle crashed at Sunset and Claxton Avenue. A source tells WDHN it could indicate the victim was trying to escape from someone by foot before getting into his vehicle.

Marek’s body was transported to the Department of Forensics in Montgomery for an autopsy, but no word on the results. WDHN is told funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
