DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — People in the Wiregrass now have another option when it comes to eye care, as Denney Vision and Eye Center South have joined together to form Vision Center South.

They began seeing patients on June 15th, but on Thursday, they welcomed Dothan city and Houston County leaders to give them a look at their new facility.

The new facility will offer on-site an all-digital lens laboratory along with over twenty-five patient exam rooms, and multiple screening and testing rooms.

“We’ve embraced new technology in the optometric community where we are in,” Vision Center South, Optometric Director Dr. Dan Denney said. “The new equipment that we have. The better service that we can provide to patients, the quicker service that we can get glasses and contacts out for the community.”

Patients will also be able to purchase their contacts and glasses on-site rather than having to drive up the road to do so.

That means a lot to us and I think it will greatly benefit the people in our area,” Vision Center South, Founding Partner Dr. Marnix Heersink said. “We will now provide optical and ophthalmologic services we have always done separately. We are currently doing it together.”

The new Vision Center South at the Health Center South Medical Tower is located at the intersection of Fortner Street and Ross Clark Circle in Dothan.
