DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The Dothan City Commission is continuing to evaluate the property where the Houston County Farm center is situated.
On Tuesday, Dothan Mayor Mark Saliba said the city is still doing its due diligence on the property, and at some point, will offer a contract and work with the county on issues they both hope to resolve.
During this time, the city is looking at what the best path forward should be for the future of the Houston County Farm Center. The big question remains: whether to update the facility or develop it into commercial retail space.
“We as a minority partner will offer them a contract at some point,” Saliba said. “We are gathering information on the property so we can do a better job making that offer.”
Mayor Saliba said this process won’t take long and city commissioners will be at a point where they can move forward in just a few weeks.
