DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The city of Dothan has plans to make one iconic landmark, lit.

According to Kevin Cowper, the City Manager for the city, they plan on making the water tower at the entrance of the park into a light display that can be seen throughout the city.

He said the city has invested heavily into the water park over the last couple of years, adding, refurbishing rides, and the project starting next month is just an addition to the progress. Cowper said the water tower will also be repainted.

“On normal evenings, it can be lit up and very visible, but then on holiday’s around Christmas time or other patriotic holidays we can light the tank in red, white, and blue for July Fourth, or red and green at Christmas,” Cowper said.

Cowper said the water tank will be completely finished by the beginning of next year.
