DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN)— On October 19, a Houston County Judge denied probation for a man accused of a 2021 murder.

Judge Henry. D “Butch” Binford has denied probation for Chrisitan De-Andre McCallister, 21, of Dothan.

According to court documents, McCallister, originally charged with murder, pled guilty to manslaughter in late 2021. He also was denied youthful offender status in 2021.

McCallister was sentenced to 15 years in prison with a fine of $5,986.52 to the Alabama Crime Victims Compensation Commission. He was also sentenced to 36 months on charges of breaking and entering a vehicle.

The state has 30 days to file a motion for monetary restitution.

McCallister was arrested in early 2021, accused of the murder of 20-year-old Willis Rambo Jr. The crime occurred in the 900 Block of Morris Street, Dothan.

According to a Dothan Police Department press release, McCallister was located and arrested in Montgomery on warrants unrelated to the murder. He was transported to Dothan and interviewed by DPD investigators, after which he was arrested.
