UPDATE: Motorcycle crash leaves Newton man dead

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — On Saturday, a two-vehicle crash in Dothan left a Newton man dead, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

At around noon, Joel J. Floyd, 25, of Newton was attempting to escape a state trooper after he ran a red light. His Suzuki GSXR 750 then collided with a Kia Forte driven by Wade Bateman, 62, of Slocomb.

The crash occurred at the intersection of U.S. Highway 84 and Alabama Highway 605.

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — On Saturday afternoon, a two-vehicle crash in Dothan left one man dead, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

At around noon, a motorcycle collided with another car at the intersection of West Main Street and North Brannon Stand Road.

The unnamed motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The occupants of the other vehicle involved in the crash were unharmed.

Dothan police responded to the scene, however, ALEA has now taken over the investigation.
