DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Dothan Police traffic investigators are looking into the cause of a crash that claimed the life of one person late Friday night.
Police and Dothan Fire units responded to the two-vehicle wreck around 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of Westgate Parkway and Reeves Street, according to an alert from DPD.
Initial reports indicated the impact of collision caused smoke to come from both vehicles. Photos from the scene also showed at least one of the vehicles hitting a concrete utility pole.
One person died at the scene, according to Dothan Police Sgt. William Phares. The deceased individual was identified as Wallace Rivers. At least one other person was taken to a local hospital.
