DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Five local State Farm agents, who call themselves the Good Neighbor Gals, held a blood drive Wednesday in the Rural King parking lot.
The reason: to save lives.
Since the pandemic began, the agents say many people have been feeling down after dealing with the aftermath COVID-19 brought.
That’s why they want to give back to the community.
“But as agents, we like to reach out to our customers for a lot of reasons.” State Farm agent Pam Martin said. “And this is a significant reason to reach out to them, to just talk to them. Some people just want somebody to listen to them. We can offer suggestions on how to make their payments, ways we can spread it out, make it a little easier for them. So, you know, we want to do this during normal times but we especially want to do it during something like this.”
They had a large turnout even before lunch.
