A candlelight vigil will be held at the G. W. Carver museum Saturday night, from 8:30 to 9:30, in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.
Supporters are being asked to wear all black in honor of the movement and a mask to adhere to the COVID-19 precautions.
A local Starbucks donated masks to the vigil and coordinator Elle Burns explained that if you do not have one, still come and they will supply one.
“Minorities are seemingly expendable in this country and that’s not okay.” Burns said. “So that’s kind of what pushed me to do it because, you know, it was just an idea and I was kind of like, well, I don’t really have resources. I don’t know people, you know, it just seemed hard.”
