DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Cyber Monday is just hours away and the Dothan Police Department wants you to be careful.
Police stress to beware of scams, pop-up windows, and ads because you want to make sure you are buying from a legitimate website and are not clicking on unknown links or text messages.
They also stress buying from a secure website and using a private internet connection to avoid opportunities of being hacked.
Finally, they recommend using a credit card when purchasing something on Cyber Monday because credit cards have more forms of fraud protection than other forms of payment.
