ELBA, Ala. (WDHN)—A decade ago, “Western Coffee County” received a “blow” when Elba Hospital “closed its doors” for the final time leaving a large segment of the population without nearby medical care.

On Tuesday, “Elba Health Care” operated by Mizell Memorial Hospital in Opp opened to patients.

Elba native, Dylan McCollough, is a nurse practitioner.
McCollough will collaborate with a physician, dr. Steve Davis from Opp, who will be the
medical director for the Elba clinic.

The clinic will provide elderly residents and others “close proximity” to medical care.

McCollough is a former standout football player at Elba High School, and he’s happy to be back home to treat his friends and neighbors.

The clinic is open Mondays thru Fridays from eight in the morning until five in the afternoon. It’s located across the street from the Elba Nursing and Rehab Center.
