ELBA, Ala. (WDHN) — WDHN has an update on the city of Elba’s continuing water issues.

Elba’s City Clerk, Sally Bane, tells WDHN that contractors have been working around the clock to replace the old pump at the water tower located near the school complex.

Since Tuesday afternoon, residents, mainly on the west side of the city, have been dealing with very low water pressure — or no water altogether.

“Things are moving in the right direction,” Bane said. “A lot of progress has been made, and the system is expected to be at full strength by Monday.”

She also says a water boil notice is still in effect for those customers who have been experiencing low pressure.

On Monday, on-campus classrooms will resume after students have been at home, virtual learning due to the water issues.
