ELBA, Ala. (WDHN)—This morning, about 50 marchers took part in a Dr. King observance
in Elba.

The group left Elba Zion Missionary Baptist Church and would proceed down Claxton Avenue to the downtown square.

Coordinator, Rev. Tim Williams, says it was the first King’s observance in Elba since 2020.
Scheduled events for 2021 and last year had to be canceled due to concerns over Covid.

Mayor Tom Maddox says the march shows the unity of the different races in his city.

Today’s guest speaker was Carlos Magwood of Elba, a “retired” military command sergeant.
