ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — Johns Chapel A.M.E. Church in Enterprise held a groundbreaking ceremony for a community park Tuesday.
It’ll be located at the intersection of Wilkerson Street and Geneva Highway.
Recently, the church bought the property in order to place playground equipment and a basketball court.
Not only will that land be used by the church, but it will also be used by people throughout the city of progress.
“I’m certainly excited that you all had,” said Sonya Wheeler-Rich, District One councilwoman. “It’s a vision myself, and I know Mayor Cooper, are certainly grateful for. I want to thank you Pastor White, and thank you John’s Chapel family for just being movers and shakers in the city of Enterprise and District One.”
Enterprise Mayor William Cooper told the gathering the future park across the street from Johns Chapel will hopefully inspire young people to come inside and experience God’s joy.
