ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — Food supplies have been getting dangerously low at the Christian Mission Pantry in Enterprise, but Thursday, they replenished the shelves through the annual food drive effort by the Mitchell Automotive Group.
Individuals along with several grocery stores donated to the cause.
Despite the pandemic and many folks losing their jobs, the car dealership’s C.E.O. said they had their most successful food drive ever.
“More food we’ve ever had, people are more gracious,” said John Mitchell Jr of the Mitchell Automotive Group. “My people went out to work for the community. It’s unbelievable the giving that we saw this year.”
Christian Mission Founder Reverend John Belcher said many people don’t realize hunger problems are not just at the holidays.
It’s a continuous 365-day problem for a sizeable segment of the population in the Wiregrass.
