ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — The Alabama Department of Transportation’s Main Street paving project in Enterprise will move into the downtown business district starting Sunday night.

ALDOT officials are expected to start paving Main Street near City Hall and the intersection of Geneva Highway north to Boll Weevil Circle at Highway 84 West.

The work will be done from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights. No parking will be allowed on the street after 5 p.m.

The city says visitors to downtown must move their vehicles off Main Street by 5 p.m. to make way for the equipment and workers to remove the existing asphalt and resurface the street.

Other travel routes and parking will be available during the nighttime paving hours. Main Street will be reopened every morning at 6 a.m. for normal business and traffic flow.
