Enterprise shooting Tuesday night, mistaken for homicide, EPD says assault

ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — Enterprise police responded to a shooting on Tuesday night that left a male victim unconscious but alive.

According to a press release, Enterprise police were dispatched around 11 p.m. to a shooting at the Executive Inn on the 600 Block of Boll Weevil Circle.

When authorities arrived on scene, police found a male victim unconscious with a gunshot wound to the leg and had facial injuries.

Witnesses told police that the the shooting stemmed from a physical altercation with the victim and an unknown suspect(s).

The victim has been treated and released from a local hospital.

It has been reported on social media that this incident was a homicide investigation and that information is not correct. This incident is being investigated as an assault.
