ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — Enterprise will hold its Annual Watermelon Day at the Farmers Market on North Main Street Saturday.

At 8 a.m. Saturday morning, Mayor William Cooper will officially kick off activities for residents that are welcomed to attend.

These include the biggest watermelon contest, the watermelon roll competition and of course, the crowd favorite, the seed spitting event.

In 2020, Watermelon Day was held, but there were very few activities to participate in due to COVID. This year, there is full slate of activities to celebrate the South’s traditional summer dessert.

This Saturday’s event runs from seven in the morning till noon. All are invited to take part. It’s free to the public.
