EXCLUSIVE: Dothan police investigate kidnapping incident

Local News

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Dothan police have a man in custody after a wild chain of events this afternoon.

Around noon today, police say they responded to the Adams Inn off Highway 231 in Dothan. That’s after locating a female victim who told police she had been kidnapped.

That victim also told police the suspect was at the Adams Inn.

Around 3 p.m., WDHN news witnessed police serving a search warrant at one of the rooms at the motel.

“Further investigation is ongoing so there isn’t much I could say,” said Special Operations Bureau Captain Rachel David. “But based on the preliminary facts, we did have enough for a search warrant that a judge signed, giving us the authorization to locate and apprehend the suspect.”

The suspect was taken into police custody around 3:30 p.m. this afternoon and charges are currently pending, but authorities have yet to release any names of the suspect or the victim.
