DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Late Wednesday afternoon,a Dothan man was shot and killed in his home.
Family members identified the victim as 36-year old Ricky Turner, officials said he suffered from multiple wounds before being pronounced dead on the scene.
Police were responding to a male “medical episode” when they discovered signs of a crime and witnesses told WDHN, they heard gunshots before they called police.
Devastated loved ones, like Turner’s wife, Stacey wants him to be remembered as a loving man who was a great father to their two children.
“I’ve never seen him say a bad word about anybody he was just a loving guy and for something like this to happen it just blows my mind I can’t understand it,” Don Clark, family pastor said.
Others are calling for action against gun violence.
“It’s just too many guns on the street too many kids got em so they need to step up,” family friend, Charlie Allen said.
Loved ones are asking for prayers during this time, as they struggle to prepare for life without Turner. With no life insurance, family members are in dire need of help. Donations can be made to the family’s GoFundMe.
