TROY, Ala (WDHN) — A 72-year-old Clayton man was killed during a three-car crash in Troy.

According to Troy Police, at approximately 6:41 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, officers responded to the 1600 Block of U.S. Highway 231 South in relation to a vehicle crash.

After arriving on the scene, officers found three vehicles and a pedestrian involved.

Police say that the pedestrian, identified as Howard James Verner, was pronounced dead on the scene. No other serious injuries have been reported.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation and no further information has been released.
