OZARK, Ala (WDHN) — A 74-year-old woman was killed after a two-vehicle crash in Ozark.

According to Ozark Deputy Chief Michael Bryan, at approximately 10:07 a.m., an SUV, driven by Gennela James, was traveling south on Highway 27 when it crossed an intersection and struck a pickup truck traveling north on Highway 231.

Deputy Chief Bryan says James was pronounced dead on the scene and the male passenger in the SUV was taken to Southeast Health in unknown condition.

The condition of the pickup truck driver is currently unknown.

The body of the deceased will be taken to Montgomery for an autopsy.

The Ozark Police Department was assisted on the scene by the Dale County Sheriff’s Office and the Dale County Coroner’s Office.
