TROY, Ala (WDHN) — A 57-year-old Goshen woman was killed after being hit by an SUV near Troy.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, at approximately 7:07 p.m. on Friday, February 10, Sherry Adams was critically injured after she was hit by a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox driven by an unidentified 17-year-old juvenile.

Adams was transported to the Troy Regional Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.

The crash occurred approximately four miles south of Troy, in the right-only turn lane of Highway 231 at the intersection of Pike County 3304.

No information has been released at this time about the driver or possible charges.

No further information is available as Troopers with the ALEA Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
