UPDATE: (WDHN) — Sgt. Jeremy Kendrick with Dothan Police confirmed the victim in the shooting on Persimmon Street early Sunday afternoon received minor, non-life threatening injuries.

Dothan Police have identified a possible suspect in the case, but not details were made available Sunday evening.

More information will be released Monday. Sgt. Kendrick said the shooting on Persimmon Street around 1:00 p.m. was unrelated to the shooting that happened at a gas station on Montana Street about an hour later.

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Just before one on Sunday afternoon, a shooting occurred in the northeastern part of Dothan, according to a police alert.

The assault occurred on the 1100 block of Persimmon Street. The firearm victim was reportedly laying next to a mailbox.

On arrival, Dothan Police reported finding a male victim with a gunshot wound to the right hip, according to initial reports.

Dothan Fire and Pilcher Ambulance were on the scene.
