OZARK, Ala. (WDHN) — Ozark Mayor Mark Blankenship and members of the Ozark City Council voted on July 20 to terminate Ozark Police Chief Marlos Walker and Ozark Police Major Tim Hicks due to allegations of inappropriate and unprofessional behavior.
On Monday, Ozark City Council called a special meeting to discuss pending legal matters in an executive session with all council members. Members voted to rescind the termination of Chief Walker.
Ozark Mayor Blankenship announced after the executive session, “We have reinstated Chief Walker in his job. We have put him on administrative leave effective immediately with pay and we’ve set a hearing for the 9th.”
At this time retired ALEA Colonel Charles Ward remains Interim Ozark Police Chief.
The hearing for former Ozark Police Chief Marlos Walker will be held on September 9 at 5 p.m. WDHN will keep you updated.
