OZARK, Ala. (WDHN) — The former Wallace Community College professor charged with over 40 counts of sex crimes will make her next court appearance on February 7, according to court records.
Kimberly Sonanstine, 38, was arrested in October of 2021 by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency after executing a search warrant on her Ozark residence.
Sonanstine was charged with 30 misdemeanor counts of second-degree sexual abuse, eight felony counts of second-degree sodomy, and two felony counts of traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act.
Sonanstine plead not guilty to her charges in December of 2021.
Her February appearance in court will mark her first appearance in front of a judge in 2022. She will be brought before Circuit Judge William Filmore to begin the jury selection process for her criminal trial.
