FORT RUCKER, Ala. (WDHN) — Fort Rucker’s commanding general has issued new guidelines for COVID-19 activity on base, on Monday.

In a Facebook video, Maj. Gen. David J. Francis, USAACE, and Fort Rucker Commanding General stated he has issued General Order 12 to combat COVID-19 cases.

Maj. Gen. David J. Francis said the order was issued due to rising COVID cases on the base and in the surrounding counties.

Under the new order, military leadership can ask soldiers to show their vaccination cards if they are not wearing a mask.

Both Maj. Gen. Francis and Command Sgt. Maj. James Wilson restated the call to wear face masks, if not vaccinated, wash hands, and social distance.

The full order can be read below.
