GENEVA, Ala. (WDHN) — The victim in the deadly Geneva car crash has been identified. WDHN also has an update on the status of the injured victims.

Geneva County Coroner, Donny Adkinson confirmed to WDHN that Ronald David Thompson, 60, of Westville, FL, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The other two people injured include a woman who received a broken leg from the impact and a man who also received a broken leg and lacerations, according to an official. The man remains in the hospital.

UPDATE:

GENEVA, Ala. (WDHN) — Highway 27 in Geneva County is now cleared for drivers to pass through.

According to Geneva police, one of the two injured was transported to the hospital with a broken leg, and the other was transported by helicopter to the hospital, both with non-life-threatening conditions.

The road is now open for travel, according to one of the officers on the scene.

GENEVA, Ala. (WDHN) — A head-on collision near Geneva resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries.

The two-car accident occurred on Highway 27 South, near the levee. Three victims were involved, one was pronounced dead when responders arrived at the scene, and the other two victims have been transported to the hospital.

First responders are currently on the scene.
