GEVENA, Ala. (WDHN) — Geneva County Sheriff Tony Helms spoke with high schoolers on criminal justice matters at a 4-H meeting.

The sheriff fielded a host of questions from high schoolers.

The questions students included were everything from trying to stop a getaway vehicle in a high speed pursuit to trying to arrest a violent criminal.

The sheriff encourages young people to look at making law enforcement a career.

He says it’s a rewarding profession and has been maligned by the national media.
