BELLWOOD, Ala. (WDHN)—A long-anticipated transportation project became one step closer to reality.

Last summer, the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs announced
a 550-thousand dollar appropriation to repave about 3-to-4 miles of roadway in the Bellwood Community in Geneva County.

County probate judge and commission chairman, Toby Seay, met with several folks involved in the project. In its county commission meeting on march 27th, the commission will open bids and it’s hoped the actual makeover of the roads can start next month and be completed in May.

ADECA chose Bellwood because it’s primarily low-income, and it has been nearly 40 years since its roads have been repaved.
