GENEVA, Ala (WDHN) — Do you or your kids want to learn the basics of police work? Now you can with the Geneva Police Department Junior Academy!
The department will be holding two different sessions for middle school-age children:
- July 10-13: Upcoming 7 and 8 graders
- July 17-20: Upcoming 6 graders
The classes will be held at the Geneva City Hall and will run from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day.
Sessions are limited to 25 students. Those wanting to attend can apply at the Geneva Police Department in person before June 16.
During the academy, Chief Pepper Mock and his staff will go over many topics including:
- Patrol Procedures
- Crime Scene Investigation
- Collecting Evidence
- Drug and Alcohol Awareness
- Internet Safety
- CPR training
- K9
