SLOCOMB, Ala (WDHN) — Five people were injured in a one-vehicle crash north of Slocomb.
On Thursday, May 25, at approximately 7:30 a.m., Slocomb Fire and Rescue rushed to North County Road 9 at Upton Road on reports of a vehicle crash with entrapment. Survival Flight 15 was auto-launched to the scene.
According to Slocomb Fire and Rescue, when first responders arrived, they found a truck overturned on its side, with a total of five patients inside and one trapped.
Officials say firefighters jumped into action, stabilizing the truck and removing the roof to access the trapped patient.
Survival Flight 15 arrived and transported one patient in critical condition. Wicksburg Fire and Rescue transported two patients, and Slocomb Fire and Rescue transported two patients to a Dothan Hospital.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency are leading the investigation and it is currently unknown what caused the crash.
Geneva County Sheriff’s Office, Slocomb Police, and Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency also responded.
