GENEVA COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — Crews rushed to a home in Geneva County on Saturday after the owner said lightning struck the attic.
Multiple crews were sent to a house fire in the 7000 block of S. County Road 49 in Fadette. When they arrived they found a home with heavy smoke coming from the attic.
Officials say crews encountered heavy smoke and heat conditions while they were fighting the blaze, but they were able to quickly extinguish the fire and limit the damage to the attic of the home.
No injuries from Saturday’s fire have been reported.






Fadette Fire District, Slocomb Fire-Rescue, Malvern Fire Department, and the Geneva County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the fire.
