DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Geneva’s annual “Festival on the Rivers” has been canceled for the second consecutive year due to COVID-19.
At one time, the three-day event was listed as one of Alabama’s top-20 events.
It’s held the last weekend of April at the junction in Robert Fowler Park. This is where the Pea and Choctawhatchee rivers meet.
In the past, some of country music’s top names have performed here. The yearly event has drawn in excess of 10,000 people to the City of Two Rivers.
WDHN News spoke to several disappointed business owners who say the event traditionally brings in needed revenue to the city.
The Geneva Chamber of Commerce hopes to bring it back in 2022.
