GENEVA, Ala. (WDHN) — The Geneva Police Department is investigating break-ins and the theft of a John Deere Gator at Chapman Memorial Park late last week.

The park is home to geneva high school’s baseball and softball facilities.

The suspect or suspects broke into a utility shed where they took the Gator, which is worth around $8,000 to $10,000.

In addition, they broke the door to a public bathroom, and they also got into the concession area, where candy and other items were taken.

“It’s costing the school money to replace these items for the upcoming season so it is costly to us as taxpayers that we’re having to pay for this,” Captain Michael McDuffie said.

If you may have information on this break-in at Chapman Park, call Geneva police at334-684-2777 or your nearest law enforcement agency.
