DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Gutherie’s Chicken will be making its return to the Wiregrass in the near future.

A 2,100 square foot lot off of Highway 84 and John D. Odom Road is where the new Gutherie’s will be built in Dothan.

Six stores have been paid for, and they may be located only in Dothan or spread throughout the Wiregrass as far as Troy.

“We feel like the time is right, and the folks will be there to help support it,” Guthrie’s Dothan Co-owner Sam Klement said. “And just with the word getting out that we were coming back, we’ve had a number of people reach out to us saying they’re genuinely excited that we’re coming back to the wiregrass.”

Klement hopes the restaurant will be open by the end of September, and it will employ around 40 people.
