HEADLAND, Ala. (WDHN) — For three years now, Headland Main Street has held the Under the Oaks event in their downtown square.
Every third Friday of the month, a band performs under the gazebo for the community to gather around and enjoy.
Tonight is the first-ever praise night, where different bands from local churches will perform.
Headland Mainstreet Executive Director, Stormy Hicks says this event has grown over the years and has become a staple in the Headland community.
“As a community, we want to be able to gather, we want to have things to do, we want to be able to interact,” Hicks said. “I know last year with 2020 we were all closed up and we didn’t get to. It made us appreciate more gathering together, and being people and having conversations, and visiting with your neighbors. It’s what we’re meant to do.”
Under The Oaks will be held Friday night from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. It is free for anyone to join.
