DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN)—With “Check out” usually around 10 in the morning at beach motels and accommodations,
This was the scene near highway 231(south) and Ross Clark Circle intersection at noon.

Thousands of folks spent the holiday weekend along with the “World’s Most Beautiful
Beaches” spent Memorial Day heading back home in the northbound lanes.

Although there were several “fender-benders” with the additional traffic, no reports of any major accidents.

Despite the traffic, it did not create any “gridlock” conditions.

The brunt of the holiday traffic was through the wiregrass by late in the afternoon.
