Henry County getting clarification on what Rescue Act Funds can be spent on

ABBEVILLE, Ala. (WDHN) — Henry County, like every county in Alabama, is a recipient of the American Rescue Plan Act and they’re not sure what they can spend it on.

According to Probate Judge David Money, he would like to use the money on all the county employees that have worked hard during the pandemic

“Once we get some guidelines from the U.S. Treasury, that will be one of the things that we want to do with that,” Money said. “It’s still very unclear on how that money can be spent, but I promise the citizens we will spend it wisely.”

Money said the people who chose to work with lower wages during the pandemic are due an award.
