HEADLAND, Ala. (WDHN) — On Friday, Headland celebrated a new mural downtown.

The new mural is downtown on the side of H-N-B First Bank. The mural was designed by Wes Hardin and is dedicated to agriculture.

It features the Covington Planter — a peanut company that was built in Headland, the best crop peanuts, and the year 1871 when Headland was established.

The Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Adrienne Wilkins says the mural is special for Headland.

“It tells the story of that partnership of our local banks helping our local farmers and solidifying the economy and building on that agriculture economy in Headland,” says Wilkins.

The mural was painted in just a few weeks.
