ORIGINAL:

KINSEY, Ala. (WDHN) — About 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, a Kinsey policeman was on patrol when he witnessed two vehicles speeding through the city on Roney Road.

A Dodge Challenger was reportedly going 87 miles per hour.

When the officer attempted to stop the vehicle, it sped away entering the Kinsey Woods subdivision.

The officer in pursuit backed off the vehicle to keep safety a top priority in a residential area.

When the officer saw the vehicle again, it was stopped in the middle of the road, and the driver’s side was empty with the passenger still in the car. The car reportedly belonged to the passenger.

Upon further investigation of the vehicle, officers found a stolen firearm, which had been registered in a different county.

The owner of the car was arrested and taken to the Houston County Jail.

The woman’s identity has not been released, and the driver of the car’s identity is still unknown.
