Hometown Heroes Banner Program in Enterprise

Local News

ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — This month, local heroes are being celebrated throughout downtown Enterprise.

Banners featuring local veterans and military personnel are hanging on light poles along main and college streets.

City officials say the banners also feature local law enforcement, first responders, medical professionals and teachers.

It costs 200 dollars to salute a hometown hero.

Proceeds from the project will be used to further beautify downtown Enterprise.

“In this last year we realize that it takes an entire village,” Enterprise Tourism Director Tammy Doerer said. “We are very proud of the people who take care of our city and individuals and we wanted to honor them in downtown Enterprise.”

Doerer says the banners encourage family members of the local heroes to visit the downtown area and create more foot traffic for the retail shops.
