HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — Houston County commissioners met on Monday morning and approved some important items to improve the county.
According to Commissioner Brandon Shoupe, they approved a grant from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs to purchase a “health van” that will be used to deliver COVID-19 vaccines throughout Houston County.
Shoupe said this will help the county reach people who have difficulty getting to where vaccines are administered. He says the vaccine van will be ready to serve the community soon.
Shoupe also told WDHN that commissioners approved their Rebuild Alabama 2022 County Transportation Plan.
Every year in August, the commission is required to report to the public ways in which they have spent or plan to spend funds from Rebuild Alabama.
