HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala (WDHN) — A Houston County woman who has been missing since Christmas has been found

UPDATE:

According to the HCSO, Sylvia Wynette Hemphill was found safe on Thursday, February 16.

Authorities did not disclose where or how she was found.

Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza would like to thank the surrounding communities for their help in locating Hemphill.

The Houston County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division is asking for the communities help to locate an endangered woman who has been missing since Christmas.

According to the Houston County Sheriff’s Office, Sylvia Wynette Hemphill was last heard from on December 25, 2022, by family via cell phone.

Authorities say her direction of travel and description of clothing is unknown at this time.
