HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala (WDHN) — A Wicksburg Rescue Ambulance has overturned on Highway 84 and Cumbie Road.

According to Houston County EMA, the ambulance turned over in the heavy rain while en route to another accident.

EMA Director Chris Judah says three crew members were inside the ambulance when it crashed and they were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

No patients were inside the ambulance at the time of the crash.

It is currently unknown what caused the crash and Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency are leading the investigation.

After the crash, Wicksburg Fire Chief Wanda Andress put out a release, thanking the community for their support and the first responders for their actions on the scene.

On behalf of Wicksburg Fire Rescue I would like to say thank you for all the prayers, phone calls and text messages I’ve received tonight. As most of you know our Rescue 309 was responding to a Motor vehicle accident this afternoon when it was involved in an accident. As Rescue 309 was traveling on Hwy 84 it hydroplaned and turned over. There were 3 crew members aboard. All 3 of the crew members were transported to the hospital for evaluation. All 3 were discharged with no injuries.I would like to thank all the fire and EMS personnel from other agencies that reached out to us today checking on us and praying for us.

ALEA Troopers, Cottonwood Rescue, Pilcher Ambulance, Daleville Rescue, Enterprise Rescue Inc., Houston County Sheriff’s Department, Bay Springs Fire, Chris Judah, and Dothan Fire Department all responded to the scene.
