DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Over 300 white crosses have been placed in Downtown Dothan to remember those who lost their lives to violent crimes.

The crosses are located in front of the Wiregrass Angel House building on West Main Street. Volunteers placed the crosses over the long holiday weekend to remember those who lost their lives to homicide.

371 crosses make up this year’s display and later this month Wiregrass Angel House will hold a National Remembrance Day ceremony to honor those lives on September 25.

Angel House is a non-profit group that provides help to families of crime victims throughout Southeast Alabama, whether it be at the scene of the crime or in the courtroom.
